Roger West Wins Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year Award

Roger West Creative & Code, a full-service digital marketing agency, has been named 2022 Small Business of the Year by the Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce. The prestigious award is presented each year following an exhaustive, eight-month evaluation process. Judges selected semi-finalists and finalists in five different categories from among more than 400 applications. Roger West was announced as the winner for businesses with 21-50 employees during the 42nd Annual Small Business of the Year Awards event held at Tampa’s Armature Works on Nov. 9.
“It’s incredibly rewarding to see so many years of hard work be recognized like this,” said Michael Westafer, CEO and founder of Roger West. “We are celebrating our 15th anniversary in business this year, and I can’t think of a better way to mark the occasion. I’m very proud of our team, the culture we've built and the great work we deliver to our clients.”
The Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce has been recognizing the best businesses in Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, and Polk counties for over 40 years. Companies are judged on five criteria that provide insight into their mission, values and culture:
- History & philosophy (solid ethical business practices)
- Management (Business goals, planning)
- Operational management (personnel, profitability, administrative processes)
- Innovativeness, technology, and response to adversity/economic conditions/competition
- Leadership philosophy and community contributions (community service involvement, leadership, corporate citizenship)
Roger West was a finalist for the Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce 2021 Small Business of the Year in the 5-20 employee category. “Being named a finalist last year and now winning the larger employee category was a humbling journey but worth the time and effort,” said Jennie Treby, President of Roger West. “The awards process was a great opportunity to come together as a team to share our story and what makes our business stand apart from the competition.”
The award is a capstone to what’s been a banner year for Roger West as it celebrates its 15th anniversary. In April, the Tampa Bay Business Journal recognized the agency as one of Tampa Bay’s Best Places to Work for the fourth consecutive year. Roger West also ranked #17 on the annual Inc. 5000 Regionals list and made the magazine’s Best Workplaces list for the second consecutive year.
