Mary Vallellanes

Chief Employee Experience Officer

Life moves fast at a digital marketing agency, so it’s important to keep perspective and stay focused on the things that promote a great culture where people look out for each other and enjoy coming in to work every day. Luckily for Roger West, Mary Vallellanes goes above and beyond to create an outstanding experience for each employee before they even walk through the door on their first day.

As the prior talent acquisition and workforce management leader for the world’s largest company, Mary understands the challenges of keeping a healthy pipeline of internal and external talent to fuel company growth.  Her 25 years in talent acquisition, people management, employee relations and HR communications make her an expert in assessing the employee experience throughout the employment life cycle.

Mary has been a trusted advisor to C level leaders in the Fortune 250, and her industry expertise includes technology, healthcare, professional services, logistics, retail, manufacturing, food service and consumer goods. For 2 years, she led the COVID 19 HR Communications, Response, and Strategy for an IT services company with a global workforce of 400k employees, where she created and implemented over 20 unique HR programs and policies that steered some of the world's best business leaders through the most challenging of people problems. She was also appointed to represent the organization in the US Chamber of Commerce's Open for Business / Return to Office Taskforces and as the HR leader of the Americas Regional Crisis Management Committee.

She began her HR career in the staffing industry as a filing clerk and believes that opportunity comes with hard work and a desire to excel. While pursuing studies in Anthropology, Political Science and Psychology, she discovered her passion for the workplace and helping companies succeed through people. After conducting more than 18,000 interviews, she's convinced that company culture is the new business currency.

A fluent Spanish speaker, Mary can roll her r’s and dance merengue, which makes her the ideal person to vacation with in Latin America and the Mediterranean. Mary enjoys the great outdoors, especially when water is involved. She enjoys scuba diving and stand-up paddleboarding, and her latest goal is to learn to sail.
